Millers keep moving with win over Bishop Chatard

Noblesville ran its record to 2-0 for the season with a 56-45 victory at Bishop Chatard on Tuesday.

The Millers led 15-8 after the first quarter. Meredith Tippner scored seven points in that period, and she was just getting started. Tippner made two 3-pointers in the second quarter, helping to keep Noblesville ahead as the Trojans cut the Millers’ lead to 27-23. C.C. Quigley scored eight points in the first half.

Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter, so Noblesville stayed in front 41-37 going into the fourth. Tippner added another eight points, while freshman Maia Blower threw in two 3-pointers. The Millers outscored Chatard 15-8 in the fourth period, with Tippner pouring in 11 points. Kate Rollins had four points in the fourth.

Tippner finished with a career-high 32 points, including three 3s, pulled nine rebounds and handed out four assists. Quigley had eight points and Rollins scored seven. Brookelyn Grayson made five steals.
