Noblesville freshman Makayla Kauzlick competed in the vault and balance beam events at the Valparaiso gymnastics regional on Saturday.
Kauzlick started her day on vault, finishing with an 8.80. In the balance beam, she scored a 7.65.
“Overall, Makayla did a wonderful job today,” said Millers coach Jody Ramey. “It is really hard to be the lone gymnast to compete without the team to support in scores and overall on ‘the floor.’ She is only a freshman and has three more years to come back and reach the goals she had set for today.
“I am looking forward to a very optimistic future with Makayla and an awesome future team. With all of my competing sectional gymnasts returning to the program next season, we have set the bar high, and I am already ‘smiling’ for the future of this program.”
