The Noblesville gymnastics team placed sixth out of 10 schools at the Connersville Invitational on Saturday.
The Millers earned a team score of 88.70. A new gymnast provided a boost for Noblesville: Freshman Keira Harper. In her first-ever meet, Harper totaled 31.80 for her all-around score, placed 10th in the balance beam event with an 8.325 and a “beam stick,” and also had the Millers’ highest score of the day, totaling 8.35 on the floor exercise.
“This is one of Keira’s best events and we will continue to see her floor score rise towards the end of the season with her high value skills on floor,” said Noblesville coach Jody Ramey.
Hailey Knoll led the way on vault with a 7.95, while Harper scored a 7.225 on the uneven bars. The seniors did well, with Ella Deno scoring a 7.90 on the balance beam with a “beam stick,” and Cailey Hurst scoring a 7.575 on the floor.
Ramey was proud of her team, noting that its total score jumped 10 points, “which is a huge rise in a total score for the sport of gymnastics.”
Noblesville will finish the regular season on Wednesday by hosting Crawfordsville at Noblesville East Middle School. The meet begins at 6:30 p.m.
