Noblesville picked up its first Hoosier Crossroads Conference win Friday night at Franklin Central, by the score of 53-38.
The Millers outscored the Flashes in each quarter, leading 13-11 after the first quarter and 19-14 at halftime. Noblesville broke away in the second half, going ahead 32-22 by the end of the third period. Zack Johnson then took over for the Millers in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 points.
Johnson finished the game with 24 points, while Xavier Hines scored 13. The Millers had an outstanding performance from the free throw line, making 11 of 12 foul shots. Johnson went 5-of-5 while Alex Hunt was 4-of-4.
“This was a great HCC win for our team,” said Noblesville coach Brian McCauley. “We went 3-0 tonight with our 9th, JV and varsity teams winning. We defended extremely well tonight and played solid on offense.”
The Millers are 1-3 in the conference and 7-6 overall. Noblesville’s next game is next Friday at Hamilton Southeastern, followed by a Saturday, Jan. 26 home game with Logansport. That game was to be played tonight, but was postponed due to the impending snow storm.
