Millers fall to Mount Vernon, 71-56

Noblesville dropped an away game at Mount Vernon Tuesday, falling 71-56.
The Marauders, ranked No. 9 in the IBCA one-class poll and No. 10 in the Associated Press Class 4A ratings, took a 19-11 lead after one quarter, then extended their advantage to 33-23 by halftime. Luke Almodovar scored 10 points for the Millers during the first half, while Aaron Fine added nine. Noblesville played even with Mount Vernon in the third period, as both teams scored 16 points. Fine contributed another nine points. But the Marauders outscored the Millers 22-17 in the fourth quarter to clinch the game.
Almodovar led Noblesville with 19 points and four rebounds, while Fine finished with 18 points. Preston Roberts also collected four rebounds.
The Millers are 10-9 and host Avon Friday to finish Hoosier Crossroads Conference play for the season.
