Millers fall to Blackman in Tennessee opener

Noblesville lost the first game of its annual Tennessee trip on Thursday, falling to Blackman (Murfreesboro) 4-1.
Blackman scored the game’s first run in the bottom of the first inning. The Millers got their run in the top of the second; Zach Gruver scored when Cooper Miles was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The score remained 1-1 until Blackman scored in the bottom of the fourth.
Noblesville was held to four hits, including a third-inning double by Matt Peek. Jared Crandall pitched four and two-thirds innings, striking out five.
The Millers are 1-1 and continue their trip with two games today. Noblesville plays Mason (Ohio) at 11 a.m. and Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville) at 1:30 p.m.
