Millers easily handle Homestead

Noblesville cruised past Homestead last weekend 49-6, running the Millers’ record to 2-0 for the season.

The game began last Friday, but was halted due to thunderstorms with 5:32 left in the second quarter. Noblesville was leading 21-6 at the time, so the Millers returned to Homestead and continued to roll. Noblesville led 28-6 at halftime.

The Millers’ rushing game was strong, as Noblesville racked up 384 yards on 41 carries, scoring six touchdowns. Brody Gump led the way with three touchdowns, including a 79-yard run. Gump only needed nine rushes to gain 172 yards.

DJ Collier, Israel Oladipupo and Noah Shinkle all scored one touchdown during the game. Collier rushed the ball for 64 yards; it was his only carry of the night. Max Miller also threw for a touchdown, delivering a 22-yard scoring pass to Nicky Morris.

Noblesville travels to Fishers on Friday to begin Hoosier Crossroads Conference play.
