Noblesville dropped its two games at the Warrior Classic on Friday in Tennessee.
First, the Millers lost to Collierville 7-4. Noblesville led off the game with a single by Kolbi Kazmierski, then Nolan Decker drew a walk and Trevor Corbett singled to load the bases. Bryce Riggers hit a line drive to score Kazmierski, then Decker got home on a wild pitch to put the Millers up 2-0.
Corbett got another RBI hit in the second inning, and that sent Drew Niswonger home and gave Noblesville a 3-0 lead. But Collierville surged ahead with four runs in the third inning and held the lead from there. The Millers scored their fourth run in the sixth inning when Niswonger hit a sacrifice fly to score Josh Kern. Kern led off with a double then moved to third on Keegan Speek’s double.
Corbett went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Noblesville fell to Oakland 4-0 in its second game. Four different players (Corbett, Riggs, Kern and Speek) each had one hit.
The Millers are 1-2 and finish play at the Warrior Classic this morning against Shelbyville Central.
