Millers dash past Penn, set to take on Center Grove Saturday

For the fifth time in six years, the Noblesville girls soccer team is heading to the state finals.

The Class 3A No. 2 Millers sailed to victory at the 3A north semi-state at Kokomo last Saturday, beating No. 13 Penn 4-0. Noblesville won its seventh semi-state championship in program history with the victory and its third in a row.

Meredith Tippner got the Millers on the board with a goal in the 25th minute, then made an assist to Delaney Stone, who scored Noblesville’s second goal in the 37th minute.

Sadie Black scored the Millers’ third goal seconds before halftime, with Kaydence Fleck getting the assist. Isabelle Meier completed Noblesville’s scoring with a goal in the 54th minute.

The Millers are 18-0-2 for the season and will play No. 14-ranked Center Grove in the 3A state championship game. Noblesville will take on the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at IUPUI’s Michael A. Carroll Stadium.
