The Noblesville gymnastics team earned its highest score of the season Saturday, totaling a 95.00 at the Connersville Invitational.
The tournament was a high-quality one, with six teams scoring over 100 points. Millers coach Jody Ramey was thrilled with her team’s performance.
“It’s not always about the wins for me,” said Ramey. “It’s about climbing the ladder.” Ramey noted that teams that she’s coached over the years have always achieved their highest score at the sectional meet. Noblesville will host the sectional on Feb. 27.
“And that’s exactly where you want to be,” said Ramey.
Hailey Knoll had the Millers’ highest score of the day, an 8.575 on the vault. That tied her for 11th place at the meet. Keira Harper had Noblesville’s top place, taking eighth on the balance beam with an 8.475.
The Connersville meet was the first competition for the Millers in a couple weeks, as two of their meets were canceled. Ramey and her team found the positive in that, however, with the coach saying that “the one thing that the cancellations of the competitions has allowed us to do is to be able to increase our skill values and twisting our skills.”
Noblesville’s next meet is Tuesday, as the Millers travel to the Gymnastics Company in Indianapolis to compete with Franklin Central and Roncalli.
