Mildred Lavonne “Bonnie” Brehm

June 25, 1931 – February 6, 2019

Mildred Lavonne “Bonnie” Brehm, 87, Anderson, and formerly of Hamilton County, died Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at home.

She was born June 25, 1931 near Arcadia to Earl Herman and Zeruah Abigail (Justice) Byers. Bonnie, as she was fondly known, grew up on a family farm near Arcadia. She attended local schools in Jackson Township and graduated from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1949. She the furthered her studies at Emmanuel Missionary College in Michigan.

She had worked as a bookkeeper while also doing clerical work. She worked at the Indiana Gas Company at Pendleton, then worked at the Pendleton License Branch and lastly worked for a doctor in Anderson. But most of all she enjoyed her role as a homemaker for her family.

At a young age she attended church with her family and grew up serving Jesus. Loving the Lord, she went on to be involved in a women’s Bible study in Anderson for many years. She went on to become a leader, teaching the truth of God’s Word in the Madison County area.

Loving music, she joined the Lowery Organ Music for L.I.F.E. group in Anderson. Bonnie played the organ for people at many different places and functions. Her favorite place was at Bethany Pointe Health Campus at Anderson.

Her daughters attested that Bonnie was a loving wife of 49 years to her husband, Lawrence Brehm, and the best mother and grandmother they could have asked for. Her husband and her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving her are three daughters, Marylynn (Randy) Thomas, Margaret Bilbrey and Beth (Van) Furgeson; granddaughter, Bonny (Joe) Overley; and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Allison and Gabe.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery near Arcadia.
