There is still time to submit a video audition for the third year of Midtown’s Got Talent presented by Allied Solutions, as the audition deadline has been extended to Monday, Sept. 5.
The City of Carmel and Allied Solutions are looking for talented and entertaining vocal or instrumental soloists and duos, ages 10 and up, with stage presence and charisma to participate in the multi-week competition. Contestants who are selected by judges based on their video audition will compete in a Youth, Teen or Adult category. The judges are looking and listening for participants who can “wow” them with their audition tapes and then go on to entertain live audiences at Midtown Plaza throughout the contest.
Preliminary Vocal or Instrumental Participant Criteria
- Be able to perform as a soloist or duo
- Singers may use track accompaniment or may have one instrument to accompany them (guitar or piano)
- Vocal/instrumental quality, stage presence, overall performance
Finalist Participant Criteria
- Sound – Although sound will be provided, contestants are responsible for their own accompaniment with the use of either instrumental backing tracks or one musician – no trios or bands.
- All song selections are final
- Provide a brief bio for the emcee to read as an introduction
Live performance semi-finals will take place Sept. 16 and 17, and Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Contest finals will take place Oct. 7 and 8 and cash prizes up to $500 will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each age category. The preliminary schedule is subject to change depending on number of contestants.
