Michael R. Smith, 69, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on May 21, 1952 to Albert and Helen Smith in Watertown, Mass.
Michael was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He completed his Master’s degree in psychology at Rutgers University. Michael worked as a government contractor and for Ancora Psychiatric Hospital with residents transitioning to independent living. He loved music, playing his guitar, and photography, and also owned a one-hour photo business. Michael received a Coast Guard certification for his captain’s license and enjoyed spending time on the water. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bridget Smith; daughters, Kimberly Levy, Billerica Ma, Kary Durr, and Aimee Pellegrine; six grandchildren; siblings, Catherine Ubaldino, Albert Smith, Margie Smith, Richard Smith, Mary Tavares, and Jayne Fusco; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Megan Waldron; and grandparents, Catherine and Michael Martel, and Gladys and Albert Smith.
A memorial service will be held in Massachusetts at a later date. The Smith family has entrusted Randall & Roberts Funeral Home with Michael’s care.
