Michael P. Bubb, M.D., 68, of Carmel, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel. He was born on March 17, 1949 to Robert and Evelyn (Wagner) Bubb in Bluffton, Indiana.
Michael graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1970 before attending Indiana University School of Medicine, and graduating in 1974. He became a board-certified internist in 1977, and practiced Internal Medicine with Meridian Medical Group. In July of 1981, he began his anesthesia residency, completing it in 1983. Michael practiced as a board-certified anesthesiologist at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and Witham Hospital in Lebanon. He spent the last 16 years at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. Michael was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Indiana State Medical Association. One of his many passions was championing the United States Constitution and the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was humble and generous in spirit and actions.
He is survived by his wife, Carol J. Bubb, whom he married on September 7, 1968; daughter, Emily M. Bubb of Carmel; son, David M. Bubb of Indianapolis; grandson, Jake D. Walesky; brothers, Roger (Colleen) Bubb and James (Sharon) Bubb; sister, Jane Harness; brother-in-law, William (June) Ulewicz; sister-in-law, Judy (Larry) McElhiney; as well as 16 nieces & nephews and 27 great-nieces and -nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jim Ulewicz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Road in Fishers, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service. Rev. Patrick Click will officiate. Inurnment will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
