Michael J. Ernest, 47, Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on April 7, 1978, to Arnold “Frenchie” and Elsie “Sandie” (Drake) Ernest in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Michael proudly served in the United States Air Force and Army, and retired from the Army in August 2024 after 23 years of service. He was deployed twice, serving in Iraq and serving as company commander of his unit in Kuwait. Michael was a realtor for Team Endicott, where his co-workers felt like family. As a pilot, he liked flying and traveling. Michael enjoyed coaching his children’s football teams, mowing his yard and grilling for the whole family. He married Maggie on June 20, 2011, in Dothan, Ala., and was an amazing husband and father who loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 14 years, Maggie Ernest; children, Jacob, Madeline, Andrew, Charlie, and Max Ernest; brother, Keith (Donnetta) Ernest; father and mother-in-law, Mike and Melody Richardson; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Buddy (Rachel Kelly) Richardson, Carson (Claire Getz) Richardson, and Suzie (Holly Bina) Richardson; nieces and nephews, Harlan, Evelyn, Madi, Hunter, and Ashton; and many longtime, close friends who were very special to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.

Memorial contributions may be made to a trust that will be set up in his children’s names.
