Michael Allen Kinder, 71, Arcadia, passed away on June 24, 2022, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
He was born on April 22, 1951, in Lebanon, Ind., to James Donovan and Mary Edna (Conaway) Kinder. He was educated in Jackson Township Schools and graduated from Hamilton Heights High School with the Class of 1970.
Mike, as he was fondly known, had worked with his parents at their restaurant and bar in Arcadia known as Donovan’s Tavern. The Tavern was an icon in Arcadia where people gathered to eat and socialize. Leisure time would find Mike fishing, collecting antique lanterns and antique fishing lures, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He also loved and looked forward to family gatherings.
He is survived by his son, Michael Jay Kinder of Cicero; his mother, Mary Edna Kinder of Atlanta; grandchildren, Braden, Piper and Carson Kinder; and sisters, Patricia Matheny-Bulger of Temperance, Mich., and Vickie Eller of Zephyr Hills, Fla.
His father, James Donovan Kinder, and a sister, Terri Phifer, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Arcadia Christian Church, 26901 State Road 19, Arcadia, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will occur at a later date at Crown Hill Cemetery near Arcadia.
