Merchants Bank has hired of George Wilson as an Agricultural Lender to serve Hamilton County and the surrounding area. Wilson will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Carmel.
An established specialist with more than 40 years of experience in agricultural finance, farm machinery, and consumer sales, Wilson will support Merchants’ lending team by advising current and prospective customers on their agribusiness and family farming needs. With a strong background in assisting clients as they navigate the demands and challenges associated with farmland management and equipment maintenance, Wilson has supported generations of farmers operating throughout Indiana and Ohio.
Before joining the Merchants team, Wilson was recently employed as a territory account manager with Redline Equipment. In this role, he was responsible for representing the company throughout several central and east central Indiana counties, building and maintaining key customer relationships.
To support his clients, Wilson made weekly on-site visits to perform new equipment examinations as well as assist customers with GPS programming and their short- and long-term financial planning. Wilson has also held positions with Educational Furniture, Bane Welker Equipment, and Smith Implements, Inc.

Wilson is a graduate of Purdue University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics.
