Local author Janis Thornton will visit the Sheridan Public Library at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 to discuss her book, The 1965 Palm Sunday Tornadoes in Indiana, presented on the anniversary of the event.
Thornton’s love for history and the telling of powerful stories inspired her to write a book about Indiana’s worst tornado outbreak. She became committed to collecting and recording firsthand stories of Hoosiers that experienced the disasters. The author gives a glimpse of one of the most devastating and catastrophic Indiana natural disasters.
