Noblesville Mayor-elect Chris Jensen has announced the following personnel appointments: Emily Gaylord will serve as Communications Director and Kevin Sears will serve as Operations Coordinator.
“Emily and Kevin bring years of experience at the highest levels of public service and in the private sector,” Jensen said. “I’m proud to welcome them to Noblesville as we work to bring the best possible government services and leadership to residents on day one of our administration.”
Gaylord will serve as Noblesville’s Communications Director, managing public and strategic communications, external facing information, and media interactions. She currently works as an account executive at Hirons, an Indianapolis public relations agency, where she has managed communications efforts for major state government agencies and programs and some of the state’s largest non-profits.
Sears comes to Noblesville as the Jensen administration’s Operations Coordinator from Governor Eric Holcomb’s Office, where he works as the Director of Scheduling and Logistics. In his role as Operations Coordinator, he will assist with administration logistics, scheduling, internal briefing and reporting, stakeholder and resident relations, and operations management.
Both individuals will begin serving on Jan. 1, 2020.
Emily Gaylord
Communications Director
Emily Gaylord is an accomplished communications executive, joining the Jensen administration from Hirons, an Indianapolis-based public relations, advertising and digital agency.
In her role as an account executive and counselor at Hirons, Gaylord led the overall strategy and communications planning for the Commission for Higher Education’s Next Level Jobs Workforce Ready program. She has also been instrumental in growing media awareness and engagement for Riley Children’s Foundation, consistently ranked the No. 1 children’s hospital foundation in North America.
Prior to joining Hirons, Gaylord was a press secretary for the Indiana House of Representatives Republican Caucus, where she implemented communications strategies for legislators and developed working relationships with media outlets throughout Indiana and the nation. Gaylord is a native Hoosier and hails from Churubusco. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in advertising through Ball State University’s College of Communication, Information and Media.
Gaylord is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
Kevin Sears
Operations Coordinator
Kevin Sears is a life-long resident of Noblesville. After graduation from Noblesville High School in 2009, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Hanover College, majoring in political science. He is joining Mayor Jensen’s team after spending the last three years in the office of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, most recently serving as the Governor’s Director of Scheduling and Logistics.
In his free time, Sears enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelsey, and 10-month-old son, Tucker, coaching youth baseball in Noblesville and spending time on Noblesville’s numerous golf courses. Sears says he is very excited for the opportunity to return to his hometown to help continue to make Noblesville a great place to live and work.
