Westfield Mayor Scott Willis has announced Matthew Deck as the new Director of Facilities and Events. This position is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of city facilities, primarily focusing on Grand Park, leased city properties, and the Westfield Welcome department.
Deck has most recently served as Chief Operating Officer with Tradewinds, where he spent 25 years helping to grow and develop the company from the ground up. He has served on the Advisory Planning Commission, as President of the Redevelopment Authority and Westfield Sports Commission, and on the Boards for the Westfield Education Foundation and the Downtown Westfield Association. He is passionate about Westfield, including the nationally renowned Grand Park Sports Campus. Deck has lived in Westfield for 20 years with his wife, Janel, and two daughters, Lindsay and Natalie.
“I could not be more excited about the opportunity to work for the sixth fastest-growing city in the country,” Deck said. “My passion for bringing people together, youth sports, and Westfield make this position the perfect fit for me.”
The Director of Facilities and Events role involves managing physical operations, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring the effective utilization and maintenance of city facilities. This position plays a critical role in developing and implementing strategic objectives, managing budgets, and fostering a collaborative environment to enhance overall functionality.
“As the City of Westfield grows and moves into the partnership with Grand Park Sports and Entertainment, this position is vital to ensuring strong communication and coordination,” Willis said. “We are committed to working efficiently on behalf of our residents.”
