April 11, 1935 – January 7, 2026
Matilda Ann Ubertini, 90, Noblesville, passed away January 7, 2026. She was born on April 11, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Frederick and Frances (Vela) Carbis.
Matilda and Napoleon Ubertini were married on August 25, 1956, and together built home and a life centered on devotion to family.
Matilda enjoyed spending time working in her beautiful flower garden, a place where she found joy and contentment. She learned how to crochet blankets and afghans that became treasured gifts, each stitch a reflection of her patience and care.
A true Italian cook, Matilda expressed her love most deliciously in the kitchen. Her home was often filled with the aroma of simmering sauces, pizzelles, and the promise of a meal that would bring everyone together. Her family dinners were lively, abundant, and made with the kind of love that will never be forgotten.
Matilda’s legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a family forever grateful for her guidance, her tenderness, and the countless ways she made their lives richer.
Her memory will continue to bloom in every garden she inspired, in every handmade blanket she crafted, and in every family gathering where her spirit will always have a seat at the table.
In addition to her parents, Matilda was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon Ubertini; sister, Paula Botta; and son-in-law, Robert DiDonato.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna M. DiNorcia-Rieg (Robert Rieg) and Christine A. DiDonato; son, Robert A. Ubertini (Jami Ubertini); grandchildren, Bryan DiNorcia (Kaitlan Daly), Anthony DiDonato (fiancée, Hayley McGuirk) and Emily DiDonato.
A private family burial will take place in Our Lady of Peace cemetery.
In memory of Matilda, donations are welcomed to The American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite #100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
