Mary Imogene Wooten

February 12, 1939 – November 1, 2024

Mary Imogene Wooten, 85, Noblesville, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024. She was born on February 12, 1939, to Nun and Anna (Hammonds) Brown in Jamestown, Ky. She was raised by her loving grandparents and had wonderful memories of them.

For 27 years, Mary worked for Fred’s Frozen Foods, and then worked for Burco-Molding in Noblesville. She enjoyed listening to Gospel records, watching horse races, and traveling with her sisters. Mary was a friend to everyone she came in contact with. She loved spending time with her grandchildren when they were young. Mary had a hard life, but she was very strong and independent because of it. She was a believer in God and believed He got her through the tough times.

Mary is survived by her son, Forest H. (Daina) Wooten, Jr.; sisters, Linda McDaniels, Louise Glover, Karen (Charles) Brann, and Sharon (Larry) McFarland; brothers, Phil (Barbara) Groce and Jack (Ceci) Groce; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nun Brown; mother, Anna Brown Groce; husband, Forest H. Wooten, Sr.; siblings, James Brown, Billy Brown, Jeanette Dishman, Bill Groce, and Leona Groce; and her step-siblings, Geneva Lowe, Nellie Hammond, Herman Groce, Alva Groce, Kenny Groce, Elwood Groce, and Clifford Groce.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services at 1 p.m., on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
