Marilyn Sue Ulsh-Eiler

April 6, 1935 – May 26, 2024

Marilyn Sue Ulsh-Eiler, 89, Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.

Marilyn was born in Martinsville, Ind., on April 6, 1935, to the late Walter and Vivian (Knight) Sink. In November 1994, she married James “Jim” William Eiler and they shared 29 years of marriage.

Marilyn attended Martinsville High School and later attended The University of Indianapolis. She was a bookkeeper for USA Student Aid and the City of Noblesville. She was a longtime member of Arcadia Brethren Church and served in many different capacities at the Church, including as a Sunday School teacher, a Greeter, and as the President of the Woman’s fellowship. In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching, doing crosswords and word searches, and reading. She also loved to watch sports, especially when IU was playing. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her roses.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, James “Jim” William Eiler of Indianapolis; sons, William “Bill” D. (Jean Ann) Ulsh of Locust, N.C., Alan Ulsh of Indianapolis, and Neil R. (Wanda) Ulsh of Crawfordsville, Ind.; grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Sheets of Statesville, N.C., Jessica (Mac) West of Indianapolis, and Billie (Mike) Swanson of Indianapolis; four great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Ben West of Greenwood, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Vivian Sink; daughter, Denise R. West; grandson, Adam Ulsh; and brother, Malcolm Sink.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Arcadia Brethren Church, 8989 E. 266th St., Arcadia, with Ben Poole officiating. Burial will follow in Arcadia Brethren Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Arcadia Brethren Church.
