Hamilton Heights saw its win streak come to end Saturday, losing at Mount Vernon 55-43.
The Marauders, who are off to a 6-1 start, led 17-7 after the first quarter. The Huskies trimmed that lead slightly, to 22-14 by halftime, but Mount Vernon put the game away with an 18-point third period.
Bayleigh Runner scored 15 points for Heights, with Jillian Osswald and Lauryn Wiley each adding 10. Runner drained four 3-pointers, with Osswald hitting three. Abby Christiansen led the Huskies’ rebounding with seven; Runner and Wiley both cleared five rebounds. Osswald handed out five assists and Wiley made four steals.
Heights is 5-3 and plays Wednesday at Pendleton Heights.
