At approximately 11:27 a.m. on Sunday, Noblesville police officers responded to the 1700 block of Conner Street on a report of a subject lying on the ground and possibly injured.
Officers arrived on the scene a short time later and located an individual, later identified as David R. Bradfield, 25, Noblesville, suffering from what appeared to be knife wounds to the arm, chest and abdomen. Officers immediately began treating Bradfield until medics from the Noblesville Fire Department arrived on the scene. Bradfield was transported by ground ambulance to Eskenazi Health (Indianapolis) for treatment. His injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Based on evidence at the scene, investigators were quickly able to determine the identity of a suspect involved in the incident. Investigators later located the alleged suspect and he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked at the Hamilton County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
Dakota L. Covey, 21, Noblesville, was charged with Aggravated Battery, I.C. 35-42-2-1.5 (Level 3 Felony); Battery w/ a Deadly Weapon, I.C. 35-42-2-1 (Level 5 Felony); and Criminal Recklessness, I.C. 35-42-2-2 (Level 6 Felony).
A charge is merely an accusation and the defendant(s) is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
