Lonnie Lee Compton, 73, Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born on September 5, 1948, to the late Garland and Lela (Godby) Compton in Noblesville.
Lonnie proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam in the Big Red 1, 101st Airborne. He was awarded several Purple Hearts. Lonnie worked in Acquisitions at Fort Benjamin Harrison. He was an avid motorcycle rider and Abate instructor. Lonnie enjoyed fishing and camping, and he was known for his “Lonnie-style” campfires.
He is survived by his companion, Becky Singleton, and her family; brothers, Chuck (Pat) Compton and Mark Compton; as well as his niece and nephews, Jason, Kenneth and Candace.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. Inurnment will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
