The Blackhawks were in control for all 32 minutes, leading 29-3 after the first quarter and 53-6 at halftime. The entire second half was played under a running clock.

“We really emphasized to the girls taking care of business, getting the job done and not being loose, making sure we were locked in and focused,” said Sheridan coach Jaidlin Bradshaw. “Regardless of who we’re playing, we need to be locked in and focused and making sure we’re doing our job.”

Kenzie Garner scored 23 points to lead Sheridan, including 12 points in the third period. Cecilia Timme dominated the first quarter with 12 points; she would finish with 20 for the game.

Besides the win, Bradshaw said she hoped her senior players got a chance to “have a little fun” during the game. The Blackhawks ran their record to 5-1 after the victory.

“It’s easy to get caught up in wins and losses, but it’s awesome to see the girls smiling on the floor and having fun and just enjoying each other,” said Bradshaw. “It’s not often that they get to truly enjoy each other on the floor.”

Brielle Garner added nine points, while Sadie Timme and Shelby Eaton both scored eight points.

Sheridan is back in action Friday for a home girls-boys Hoosier Heartland Conference doubleheader with Clinton Prairie. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., with the boys game to tip off afterwards.
