The Horseshoe Prairie Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring the annual American History Essay Contest for grades 5 through 8 and the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest for grades 9 through 12. All students in Hamilton County including public, private, parochial and homeschool students are eligible to participate.
The title of the 2017-18 American History Essay Contest is “World War I; Remembering the War to End All Wars” as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War. The title of the 2017-18 Christopher Columbus Essay Contest is “Advantages and Disadvantages of Working Relationships Between Foreign Parties.”
There are specific instructions and deadlines for each essay contest. Winners at the Chapter level will be eligible for entry into the State level and ultimately for the National level in Washington, D. C.
