Local author’s book to benefit Humane Society

Noblesville resident Sharon McMahon has published a book and will donate the royalties to the Humane Society of Hamilton County to assist senior dogs and cats which may need additional medical assistance to make them more adoptable.   The book, “Sweetie’s Scars:  A Journey of Hurt, Hope, and Healing” is available on Amazon.

“Sweetie was rescued by my husband Bruce and me in 2005 from a horrific situation in another County and she was badly wounded.   Surgeries, therapy, and some loving care turned her life around.   Unfortunately we lost Sweetie at age 16 this past November.”    McMahon states that all royalties she receives from the book sales will be donated to a special fund called “Sweetie’s Rainbow Fund” at the Humane Society for Hamilton County.

The purpose of the Fund, according to McMahon, is to provide funds specifically for senior dogs and cats designated as five years and older who may come into the facility needing extraordinary care.   “I know that many prospective adopters who might have wanted to rescue Sweetie may have hesitated due to the cost and requirements of her medical care.   The Humane Society for Hamilton County does an amazing job in meeting the needs of the many animals in their care.    This is just my small part in doing what I can to help these wonderful animals find their forever homes.”

“Sweetie’s Scars:  A Journey of Hurt, Hope, and Healing” may be ordered directly from the Amazon website and is also available on Amazon Prime.
