The Hamilton County 4-H Fair is less than three weeks away, and once again a great group of 4-H’ers have made the decision to donate their livestock to Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank’s (HCHFB) Meating the Need program.
Please consider a monetary donation towards Meating the Need 2024 today. This joint project between Hamilton County 4-H Beef, Dairy, and Swine Projects and HCHFB will provide over 4,000 pounds of LOCAL beef and pork to friends and families in need through the county’s food support network.
In its history, the program has already provided over 32,225 pounds of meat for Hamilton County food pantries and meals programs.
On Tuesday, July 23 at the 4-H Livestock Auction, HCHFB will purchase – with help from donors – beef, dairy cattle, hogs from 19 LOCAL 4-H members. Meating the Need donations go towards the sale of the animals and to the 4-H members as they pursue their 4-H, education, and life goals.
Any monetary donation amount is appreciated and, if you donate at least $250 by July 10, you will be recognized on the 4-H Fair Banner, and in the local press, including the pages of this newspaper.
Meating the Need provides healthy LOCAL protein for the county’s most vulnerable kids and families and strengthens the partnerships between farm families and the greater community.
Check donations can be made to Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank, P.O. Box 881, Noblesville, IN 46061, Memo: Meating the Need. Donate online via Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank website, hchfoodbank.org/online-giving. Be sure to designate “Meating the Need.”
