Live audience can enjoy Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” from Carmel Symphony Orchestra tonight

DePue

Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” will resonate through the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 13 as violin virtuoso Zachary DePue joins the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) for a combination live audience and streaming event.

The 7:30 p.m. program also features a special appearance by the Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre performing during the “Winter” concerto, plus the CSO presenting Schubert’s Symphony No. 5 D. 485 in B-flat Major.

Palladium seating is limited to just over 300 patrons, and tickets sold out within the first 48 hours. Due to the limitation, the evening’s performance also will be livestreamed. Tickets for the livestream are available at carmelsymphony.org, and can be purchased until the show begins.

Hymes

“You can’t imagine how excited we are to be playing in front of a live audience again,” said CSO Artistic Director Janna Hymes. She noted that the Carmel Symphony is one of the few musical organizations in the area that has continued to perform throughout the pandemic. “Our orchestra members cannot wait to take the stage on March 13 and perform the ‘Four Seasons’ for our fans and friends, inside the Palladium as well as those joining us via the live stream. And, of course, having Zach with us as our guest artist makes it even more special.”

Violinist Zachary DePue has established himself as a favorite at concert venues around the world with his trademark high-energy performances. He is well-known and popular with Central Indiana audiences, having served for over a decade as concertmaster with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO). He also is a founding member of the ISO’s first ensemble-in-residence, the international sensation Time for Three, with whom he performed for 15 years.

“The ‘Four Seasons’ is the ideal vehicle to showcase Zach’s versatility and musical enthusiasm,” Hymes said. “These four violin concertos always are huge audience hits, and Zach never fails as a hit with our audience, as well.”

Saturday’s event is part of CSO’s Masterworks Series. The series continues on Saturday, April 24 with a CSO performance featuring pieces from Mozart, Faure, Ravel, and Bizet. Programming for a Mother’s Day Weekend concert on Saturday, May 8 will be announced soon. The orchestra then will embark on its exciting and diverse summer concert schedule from June through September at a variety of area venues – leading to its 2021-22 season kick-off in October.

United Fidelity Bank is sponsor of the March 13 performance. CSO season sponsors are the City of Carmel, the Center for the Performing Arts, and the Palladium. Additional information about upcoming performances will be announced soon at carmelsymphony.org.
