The Noblesville Schools board of trustees announced Tuesday the appointment of Lisa Sobek to fill a vacancy created by the recent resignation of Teri Ditslear. The board carefully considered all applications they received and publicly interviewed four final candidates before selecting Sobek.

Sobek brings a corporate background in marketing, sales and account management to the role, as well as experience as executive chair of the Noblesville Diversity Coalition (NDC). NDC was founded in 2017 and brings together leaders representing the school district, city, business community, faith organizations and parents to advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in the Noblesville community.

“I am a passionate supporter of Noblesville Schools, both as a parent and as a community leader, and care deeply about providing a meaningful, positive and equitable educational experience for all children in Noblesville,” said Sobek. “I’m thrilled and honored to have been appointed as the newest member of the Noblesville School Board of Trustees and look forward to continuing to serve and advocate for our students, parents, teachers and staff.”

Sobek has been involved in volunteer and leadership roles with Good Samaritan Network, Grace Church, and Wheeler Mission, as well as serving in Noblesville Schools’ classrooms and parent teacher organizations.

A graduate of Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business and Indiana Wesleyan University, Sobek is also an alumna of the Noblesville Schools Miller Ambassadors program where she learned how the district operates in several areas including curriculum, finance, student services and more.

Sobek was sworn in at the June 4 school board special session and will serve out the remaining portion of Ditslear’s four-year term. She and her husband have two children attending Noblesville Schools.
