Lisa Kay Dowell, 62, Noblesville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by many friends and family members, on February 10, 2025, after a courageous 14-year battle with cancer. She faced every challenge with joy, true strength, and grit, inspiring all who knew her.
Lisa was born on April 25, 1962, in Indianapolis at Methodist Hospital. She graduated from ITT Business School in 1982 and dedicated 40 years of service to Rubin & Levin, where her hard work and commitment left a lasting impact.
Lisa was preceded in death by her ex-husband of 27 years, Brian Dowell, and her father, Kirk Kuykendall. She leaves behind her loving mother, Janet Kuykendall; her cherished daughters, Sarah (Kevin) Hankins and Janelle Anderson; and her adored grandchildren, Kirk Williamson, Gemma Hankins, Valerie Hankins, Josiah Dowell, and Skye Anderson. She is also survived by her siblings, Steve (Kathy) Kuykendall, Karen Gorski, and Jill Lisinski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In the last two years of her life, Lisa found joy and companionship with Mark Light, who stood by her side, bringing her love and happiness.
Lisa lived life to the fullest, embracing her passions, including horseback riding, particularly with AGAPE Therapeutic Riding, country music, traveling, and spending time with her many friends. She was deeply committed to supporting Multiple Sclerosis awareness through various charities, walks, and events and she was a devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
A private family mass and dinner will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, February 21, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 410 Pearl St., Cicero. A public visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, February 22, at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero.
The family requests that any donations be made in Lisa’s honor to a Multiple Sclerosis charity or a charity of your choice.
Lisa’s legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. She lived with courage, loved deeply, and left behind a beautiful example of resilience and grace.
