Lisa Charles, former assistant Veteran Service Officer for Hamilton County, has been promoted to service officer effective Monday, Jan. 27.
She replaces Lynn Epperson, who was not re-appointed by county commissioners. Robin Wilson, an assistant under Epperson, will remain on the office staff.
Ms. Charles, a military veteran, is a resident of Carmel. The job involves assisting county veterans with benefits to which they are entitled and generally consulting when needed with veterans on their needs.
County Commissioner Steve Dillinger said several applicants were interviewed for the position with Ms. Charles found to be very well qualified.
The service officer maintains an office on the main floor of the county Government and Judicial Center in Noblesville.
Continuing as a deputy veteran service officer is Diana Lynch, commissioners’ office manager.
