The Westfield Lions Club played host to the Indiana Lions District 25-D quarterly cabinet meeting on July 29 at the Westfield Lions Clubhouse.
New District Governor Dan Wilcox, a Westfield Club member, presided over the meeting. A total of 68 Indiana Lions representing 43 local clubs were in attendance.
At the state level, the Lions clubs support projects such as the Special Olympics, the Indiana School for the Blind, medical programs for the hearing and sight impaired, and many other important service projects.
Locally, Lion Victor McCarty gave a presentation of what the Leo Club, the Westfield High School affiliate of the Lions, will be up to this new school year. The district is encouraging other clubs to consider formation of Leo Clubs in their community high schools.
As the new District Governor, Wilcox set goals for each of the district’s clubs to work to increase membership, as well as work on new projects to serve the local community, the state and the nation.
Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization, with over 1.35 million members in more than 45,000 local clubs worldwide.
