Linda S. Williams

January 25, 1953 – February 18, 2025

Linda S. Williams, 72, McCordsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on January 25, 1953, to Thomas and Helen (Sessoms) Cunningham in Madison, Wis.

Linda had a deep love for music, which was a common theme throughout the tapestry of her life. She was a talented vocalist and pianist. Linda received her degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her extraordinary talents brought joy to many people, who heard her sing or participated in one of her choirs or musical productions. She dedicated many years to Fishers United Methodist Church as their Choir Director. Linda also enjoyed sewing costumes, crafting, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Linda’s passion extended beyond her musical talents, as the founder and subsequent director of Come to Me Food Pantry at Fishers United Methodist Church in 2007. Her legacy of volunteerism and supporting those in need is evidenced by the 3.5 million pounds of food that has been distributed since the pantry’s inception. Linda led a group of devoted volunteers who coordinated the collection of food from various businesses, churches, schools, and service groups throughout the community. The pantry’s impact has been profound, serving upwards of 180 families each week.

Linda is survived by her husband, Steve Williams; the mother who raised her, Susan Cunningham; children, Scott (Angela) Williams, Kristin (Tom) Paulus, Kyle (Julie) Williams, and Jennifer Williams and 12 grandchildren; her sister, Kelly (Jeff) Bybee and their children Nick and Heather; and her brother, Brad (Meghan) Cunningham and their sons Thomas (Maya) and Will.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Williams.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m., on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Fishers United Methodist Church, 9691 E. 116th St., Fishers.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Come To Me Food Pantry at Fishers United Methodist Church, 9691 E. 116th St., Fishers, IN 46037 (cometomefoodpantry.org).
