Noblesville’s downtown city park is shining bright again this winter as Lights Over Seminary returns to the neighborhood park southeast of the Downtown Square. Powered by Duke Energy, Lights Over Seminary is a collaboration between the city, the Noblesville Preservation Alliance, and Main Street.

“Lights Over Seminary is a walkable holiday lights display in Seminary Park that focuses on history,” Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen said. “Restored vintage decorations used by the city in the past are on display and will help brighten the night once again along with the signature light up Noblesville sign.”

The lights were turned on for the first time at 6 p.m. on Monday. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the typical celebration was replaced with a smaller gathering of the mayor, members of the Noblesville Common Council, Noblesville Parks Director Brandon Bennett, Duke Energy’s Mark LaBarr and Sandy Stewart of the Noblesville Preservation Alliance.

“Seminary Park is a cherished asset in Noblesville, and it is wonderful to shine a spotlight on it this time each year,” Jensen said. “The event gives our community a chance to get outside and create memories together this holiday season. It’s also an ideal nearby addition to the Holidays at the Hill activities we have at Federal Hill Commons.”

This is the third year for Lights Over Seminary, which is free to attend and available 5 to 11 p.m. nightly through Jan. 3, 2021.
