Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County (SCHC) is holding a Free Money Smart Week Event from Indiana Secretary of State’s Office and Senior Medicare Patrol. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25 at Noble Naz Church, 1391 Greenfield Ave., Noblesville. WTHR Meteorologist Chuck Lofton will be the emcee for event.
The event will kick off with a viewing of “$CAMMED: Investment Fraud Revealed,” a 30-minute documentary from WFYI and Indiana Secretary of State. This documentary reveals criminal cases in which fraudsters bilked Hoosiers of millions of dollars – how the scams unraveled, learn from past mistakes, and discover how to prevent future financial fraud through education and recognizing warning signs.
After the documentary, Lofton will lead panelists representing the Indiana Secretary of State, Indiana Attorney General, AARP Indiana, Indiana Alzheimer Disease Center, Senior Medicare Patrol, and IN Legal Services in an informative discussion about fraud prevention. The event will also have booths from organizations like Better Business Bureau, CICOA and more.
Anyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a free lunch provided by AARP. To RSVP, please call the SCHC office at 317-674-8777.
