Hamilton County Emergency Management (HCEM) is partnering with the county’s premier airport, Indy Executive Airport, and First Wing Jet Center to offer a free Drone Symposium. The event is intended for hobbyists, professionals, and anyone interested in drones.
Participants will hear from Airport Director Sam Sachs to better understand how drone pilots can work with airports to ensure safe airspace for all. Several drones used in public safety operations will be displayed amongst aircraft in the airport’s hanger. Dylan Powell, HCEM’s UAS Program Manager, will explain how drones are used for public safety operations.
“We are excited for the opportunity to bring together manned and unmanned aircraft operations with the expertise of those who are licensed pilots and aviation management,” said Justin Clevenger, Vice President, Hamilton County Aviation Authority and Chair of the Hamilton County Emergency Management Advisory Council. “It is a unique partnership and a wonderful opportunity for the public.”
The event will be held at Indianapolis Executive Airport, 11329 State Road 32, Zionsville, in partnership with First Wing Jet Center from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19. Registration is required and available at this link.
