Florida Road to close for Bell Ford Pedestrian Bridge setting

Beginning on or after Thursday, Sept. 5, Florida Road between 104th Street and 113th Street will be closed to all thru traffic to move and set the Bell Ford Pedestrian Bridge. The estimated closure will be for two calendar days.

146th Street & Allisonville Road

The contractor will utilize a lane restriction along Allisonville Road south of 146th Street between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 6. Drivers should expect construction equipment entering and exiting work zone areas. Please watch for flaggers within the construction zone and use extreme caution while driving through this zone.

141st & Prairie Lakes roundabout

Construction crews have begun preliminary work for the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of 141st Street and Prairie Lakes Boulevard/Old Oak Lane.

As of Monday, Aug. 19, the intersection is closed to thru traffic. Access to Woods of Britton apartments will be maintained off Cumberland Road only during this first phase. The 141st Street access to Prairie Lakes will be closed and access will be off Cumberland Road and 146th Street. View the map here.

  • Business access: Businesses along Mundy Drive remain accessible from SR 37 and 141st Street. A right in, right out configuration will continue at the intersection.
  • Prairie Lakes residents: Access your complex via Cumberland Road or 146th Street. Access at 141st Street will be closed.
  • Woods of Britton residents: Use Cumberland Road to access 141st Street, access to your complex along 141st Street will remain open. Exiting the complex, you may only travel east (right) on 141st Street towards Cumberland Road.

126th Street & Southeastern Parkway roundabout

This roundabout is now open but remains an active construction site with intermittent lane restrictions. During the week of Sept. 2, the contractor will conduct curb work on Corydon Drive, which will soon serve as the new connection for the Hunters Run development, anticipated to open in mid-November of this year. The project will rehabilitate or reconstruct the pavement, add curb and gutter with storm sewers, and multi-use paths and/or bicycle lanes. State Road 37 & 141st Street

Please note the continued lane restrictions on SR 37 North and South, approaching the 141st Street Interchange.

The west side of 141st Street at SR 37 has closed for the next phase of construction. Traffic will transition to the east side, with SR 37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. This closure will remain in place throughout 2024.

Please review detour routes to plan ahead during this time (141st Street, SR 37 West, and SR 37 East). Thank you for your continued patience and remember to drive cautiously and safely through construction areas.

Sidewalk improvement project

Restoration will be ongoing in the Sweet Briar North Neighborhoods the week of Sept. 2. The sidewalk work will consist of removal and replacement of sidewalk panels which pose a toe-kick trip hazard. Sidewalks within driveways are not included in the scope of this project.

Road resurfacing projects

The contractor will be striping on 131st Street and Promise Road the week of Sept. 2. Watch out for intermittent lane restrictions and flaggers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

It is the responsibility of homeowners to water the seed for it to germinate.

96th Street beautification

The contractor will work on landscaping for this project the week of Sept. 2. This project consists of decorative streetlights being installed along 96th Street from North by Northeast Boulevard to Cumberland Road. New medians will also be installed along North by Northeast Boulevard and Kincaid Boulevard with streetlights.
