Monon Boulevard detour

On or after Monday, Sept. 18, a portion of the southbound lane of Monon Boulevard from Elm Street to Walnut Street will be closed due to work on a nearby cell tower.

The sidewalk/path west of the boulevard and the Monon Greenway will be closed in this area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and will reopen on evenings and weekends. The closure is expected to last through Sept. 29 but is subject to change.

  • The red line indicates the area that will be closed.
  • The green line indicates the detour for pedestrians.
  • The yellow line indicates the detour for bikes/cyclists.
  • The blue line indicates the detour for vehicular traffic along Veterans Way.

For your safety as well as the safety of the construction team, please respect all closure signage.

Michigan Road

There are intersection closures at 96th, 106th and 116th streets now through Oct. 23 as INDOT performs concrete pavement restoration. These closures will take place from 9 p.m. Friday evening through 5 a.m. Monday morning.

The week prior to each closure, watch for message boards posted at Zionsville Road and Shelborne Road to alert travelers of the impending closures.
