Westfield surged ahead in the final two minutes of its game at Harrison on Tuesday, and that carried the Shamrocks to a 60-55 win.
Westfield led 17-16 after the first quarter and 31-28 at halftime. The ‘Rocks were still ahead at the end of three, 43-40, but the Raiders were in control in the early part of the fourth, going up 52-48 with 3:25 left. Westfield went on an 8-0 run of its own to get back ahead 56-52 with under a minute to play, and the Shamrocks held on for the victory.
Braden Smith scored 18 points for Westfield, and also handed out six assists and blocked three shots. Cam Haffner reached double-double status with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Nic Depasquale collected six rebounds.
The Shamrocks are 12-4 and play at Hamilton Heights on Friday in an all-county game.
