Larry Richard Snapp

June 27, 1945 – May 12, 2025

Larry Richard Snapp, 79, Westfield, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 12, 2025. He was born June 27, 1945, in Shelbyville, Ind., son of Richard and Eva (Light) Snapp.

Following his 1963 graduation from Shelbyville High School, he attended Indiana University Bloomington for two years.

Larry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a Drill Sergeant.

On December 30, 1978, Larry married Judy Smith, and they shared a loving marriage for 46 years. Larry was a devoted, caring husband to Judy. Together they enjoyed traveling the world on cruises with friends and family.

Larry’s professional life was defined by integrity and leadership. He became a Vice President in 1980 and held that role at several banks – Union State, Merchants National, National City, and finally PNC. He helped shape financial communities while mentoring those who worked with him. Larry retired in 2010.

He also served as President of the Westfield Chamber and was actively involved in the Carmel Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Economic Development community.

In 2006, Larry and Judy joined Trinity Baptist Church, Westfield. He loved participating in Bible studies and many other activities of the church, including Trinity Gold, for seniors. He enjoyed driving his golf cart, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Snapp Kirby.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 46 years, Judith “Judy” Ellyne Smith Snapp; children, Kristy (John) Snapp Sebring and Troy (Suzanne) Snapp; grandchildren, Ben, Madison, Mia (Alton), Michael, and Zachary; two great-grandsons, Leo and Leland; sister-in-law, Maren Knowles; and son-in-law, Mike Kirby.

Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church, 1415 E. 191st St., Westfield, where the Funeral Service will begin at 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Larry, may be directed to the American Heart Association, 6500 Technology Center Drive, Zionsville, IN 46077. Envelopes will be available at the service.
