Larry Berg inducted into Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame

The Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame inducted Larry Berg in a ceremony Wednesday at Hamilton Heights, prior to the varsity boys basketball game between the Huskies and Lebanon.
Berg (center) graduated from Jackson Central High School in 1956. He led Hamilton County in scoring in 1956 with an average of 20 points per game. He also led the county in assists and was second in rebounding. Berg was listed as one of the top 100 players in Indiana.
Berg continued his basketball his career at Butler University. He was a starter on the freshman team; at the time freshmen could not play on varsity. Unfortunately, a knee injury early in his sophomore year ended his college career.
After serving his country for two years in the Army, Berg obtained an accounting certificate from Indiana Business College. He spent his entire career at Indiana Farm Bureau in the accounting and auditing department. Larry and Joyce, his wife of 58 years, have two children, daughter Judy and son Jeff. Larry and Joyce reisde in The Villages, Fla.
