Onyx+East, a full-service home builder based in Indianapolis, will deliver the first build phase of Flora in September, furthering its mission of bringing the urban experience to suburban living.

The $61 million community in Carmel is its largest to date and will feature 121 homes, including single-family residences, rooftop-deck townhomes, pitched-roof townhomes and courtyard duet homes upon completion. The first build phase includes constructed, three-bedroom townhomes available for sale at a starting price in the mid-$400,000s.

Located at the roundabout of Illinois Street and Spring Mill Road just north of Interstate 465 and set on 17 acres, Flora will offer outdoor spaces perfect for pets and families, including walking paths, a dog park, pond, courtyard, fire pits, scenic overlooks and more. The community is also located within the prestigious Carmel Clay School District and close to everything West Carmel has to offer, including restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

“The vibrant Flora community will have something for everyone who chooses to call it home, with a variety of home types and amenities to suit individual tastes, budgets and lifestyles,” Onyx+East CEO Kelli Lawrence said. “We’re excited to bring the type of urban build project for which we are known to the suburbs of West Carmel and create an environment for residents to live a life on trend. A home isn’t just where you live – it’s who you are, so we make sure all our communities are well built and undeniably sophisticated.”

Flora is a low-maintenance community designed for homebuyers looking for a comfortable and stylish lifestyle. All homes will feature flexible open-concept interiors, modern features and finishes, and energy-saving technology. Residents can choose from four distinct home types to best suit their lifestyle needs, with homes ranging from three to four bedrooms and 1,715 to 3,021 square feet.

Flora marks Onyx+East’s largest housing development in the company’s history and follows its other established communities in Carmel, including Uptown at WestClay and Melange.

Onyx+East has completed or begun construction on more than 25 communities totaling over $400 million of investment across Indiana, Florida, and Ohio in the last three years.
