Two projects that got underway on Monday will result in lane restrictions for motorists at 96th Street and Hazel Dell Parkway where a new roundabout is being built; and on Carmel Drive, just west of Range Line Road, where utility lines are being buried.
96th Street and Hazel Dell
Hazel Dell Parkway will be closed in both southbound and northbound directions. Eastbound and westbound 96th Street traffic will be shifted to the south lanes of the existing 96th Street, maintaining one lane in each direction. This project will take 60-75 days to complete, weather permitting.
Carmel Drive west of Range Line Road
Due to Duke Energy’s utility burial project, two of the four lanes on Carmel Drive west of Range Line Road will be closed to traffic. The approximate 45-day project will proceed in three phases:
- Phase One – Two southern lanes of Carmel Drive will be open to two-way traffic.
- Phase Two – Work moves to middle lanes, splitting traffic to north and south lanes.
- Phase Three – Two northern lanes will be open to two-way traffic.
Access to all businesses in this area will remain open during construction.
