The Noblesville girls lacrosse team beat Fishers 16-2 on Thursday in what was a sectional preview game.
The Millers led 9-1 at halftime. The victory earned Noblesville the No. 1 seed in Sectional 2. Rheagan Haney led the Millers with five goals, while Emma Potter scored three goals and handed out three assists; she set the single-season record for total points with 64.
Emma Hammond added two goals, with Brooke Miller, Sidney Klinger, Maddie Christie, Nataley Blackburn, Chloe Barnett and Marisha Woehler all scoring once. Maya Hill, Mallory Miller, Emily Blackburn, Barnett, Meagan Wernke and Maya Hill each handed out one assist. Potter collected five ground balls, with Hill, Klinger and Blackburn each picking up two ground balls. On defensem Potter, Mallory Miller and Wernke each had two forced turnovers. Potter had six draw controls, Blackburn had four and Wernke two. Maddie Reel made five saves.
Gracie Bicknell and Kayli Gerka each scored one goal for Fishers. Nabeelah Aregbe and Emily Gausepohl both collected two ground balls, while Audrey Blanner, Abigail Garrison and Lilly Hill each had one. Jaclyn Frey made four draw controls, followed by Bicknell with two and Emma Brinson with one. Aregbe had two forced turnovers and Anna Schnefke made eight saves.
Noblesville is 12-2, while Fishers is 3-11. The two teams will meet again Thursday in the first round of the sectional at the Millers’ Beaver Materials Field.
The Hamilton Southeastern boys lacrosse team beat Fishers 22-5 Friday night.
Nine different players scored for the Royals, who are now 11-2 for the season. Michael Mattaliano scored five goals, followed by Garrett Smith with four. Ryan Kemp and Connor Runhow each scored three times. Kemp and Smith each handed out two assists and Mattaliano had one.
Ty DeSplinter had five ground balls, with Evan Wang collecting four. Smith picked up two ground balls and Mattaliano and Kemp both had one.
