The Carmel and Guerin Catholic girls lacrosse teams advanced to Saturday’s Class 2A state championship game by winning Tuesday semifinal games at Heritage Christian.
The Greyhounds beat Noblesville 15-3. Breckin Hare led the Carmel scoring with four goals, followed by three goals each from Sophie Mock and Elizabeth Tomalia. Tori Tomalia added two goals, while Molly Cleary, Anna Dumke, Peyton Henney and Ella Pacilio all scored one. Tori Tomalia was dominant on draw control with 10. Mock led the ground balls with three, while Kate Strydesky collected two.
Chloe Barnett, Nataley Blackburn and Lydia Dumas all scored one goal for the Millers, with Marisha Woehler making one assist. Victoria Cook had four ground balls, with Lauren Fischer, Emma Hammond and Gabrielle Hassan all collecting three, and Blackburn getting two. Goalkeeper Lauren Fischer had three saves.
The Golden Eagles, the defending 2A state champion, beat Hamilton Southeastern 15-8 in the other semifinal game. Stats from that game were unavailable at press time.
Carmel and Guerin Catholic are scheduled to play for the 2A state championship game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Christian.
