Since announcing her candidacy as a mayoral candidate in August, Julia Church Kozicki has had her sights fixed on the upcoming May 7 primary election day. With that date just days away, she says believes her vision for Noblesville’s future is more important than ever.
As outlined when she announced her intention to run, Kozicki is committed to “Leading Tomorrow,” including:
- Enhancing amenities like the historic downtown, riverfront, parks and vibrant neighborhoods by supporting business owners and home owners, implementing a much-needed viable downtown parking plan and developing a city infrastructure that can be maintained for the next 50 years.
- Proactively managing growth of commercial, industrial and residential use through proper planning and preparation. The needs of the community must be carefully articulated so that the end result of this growth benefits the community as a whole.
- Fostering transparent connectivity that ensures coordination and avoids duplication of efforts while supporting the city’s growth potential, businesses, neighborhoods and community. She is the only candidate who has publicly committed to launching a Neighborhood Roundtable, encouraging an open dialogue with City Hall while working together as a unified community.
According to Kozicki, communities thrive when citizens feel a sense of love, security and belonging. That is Kozicki’s vision for Noblesville under her direction as Mayor.
“Those are important lessons we have learned working with the Noblesville Diversity Coalition,” Kozicki said. “I will make myself available in and out of City Hall so that I can hear both the joys and concerns about our city.”
When Kozicki’s parents moved to Noblesville in 1966, the county seat only had 5,500 residents.
“As we approach the city’s Bicentennial, we have more than 62,000 residents with diverse needs and expectations,” said Kozicki. “The collaborative and inclusive style of leadership I have demonstrated as a member of the Noblesville School Board, Hamilton County Leadership Academy, and Noblesville Tri Kappa is directly transferrable to leading Noblesville as mayor. We have an opportunity with this election to evaluate our processes and make sure we are being efficient with taxpayer dollars. As Mayor, I will make sure our city government is meeting the needs of our citizens.”
A lifelong Republican and resident of Noblesville, Kozicki has served three terms on the Noblesville Schools Board of School Trustees and in leadership roles in numerous community organizations including the Hamilton County Leadership Academy, First United Methodist Church, the Indiana State Bar Association, Indiana School Board Association and Noblesville Tri Kappa.
