The Kiwanis Club of Cicero is in the midst of holding its most-popular and top-selling fundraiser of the year – the annual flower and plant sale.
“We are delighted to announce the eagerly awaited return of our Annual Flower and Plant Sale, an event that promises to infuse color and vitality into the heart of our communities,” Club President Todd Clevenger said. “This year’s sale aims to surpass previous successes, uniting residents in a celebration of nature while supporting so many worthy causes.”
Each year, the Flower and Plant Sale serves as a vital fundraiser for the Cicero Club, enabling the organization to continue its invaluable work throughout our communities. Proceeds from the sale will directly contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of children from education programs to youth development initiatives.
“Our annual Flower and Plant sales go right back into our communities,” Event Chair Dottie Carlson said. “We sponsor a number of programs such as Books for a Bright Future where all elementary students receive a free book to call their own. King’s Treasure where children throughout our communities, who may not otherwise be able to enjoy the joys of Christmas morning, receive several presents, visit with Santa and enjoy lunch with their families. Our annual scholarship program where we provide scholarships to graduating seniors. Plus, the community members who purchase the plants, receive the most beautiful flowers and plants.”
From now until Saturday, April 13 anyone wishing to place an order may do so one of two ways: reach out to a Kiwanis member and place an order through them at cicerokiwanis.org and fill out and submit an electronic order form. Orders will be ready for pickup from 2:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 26 at the Cicero Park Pavilion.
“We do order a number of extra top sellers every year, so if you didn’t get a chance to place a pre-order you can stop by and see if any of the extras are what your porch or garden needs,” Carlson said. “Then if we have extras after the sale on Friday, we will be at the park Saturday morning selling those on a first-come, first-served basis, until they are gone.”
Fundraising partner Hoods Garden in Noblesville helps the club secure the Plant and Flower sale’s selection of beautiful blooms.
“Hoods has been with us from the start,” Clevenger said. “We greatly appreciate their support, as well as the knowledge and expertise they provide to help ensure our annual event is a success.”
The Kiwanis Club of Cicero extends a warm invitation to all residents of Cicero, Atlanta, Arcadia, and beyond to join them at the annal flower and plant sale.
“Together, let’s sow the seed of kindness and compassion while celebrating the beauty of spring,” Clevenger said.
